As a public charter school in Arizona, it is the first tuition-free school that is focused on the educational needs of children with autism. Formed in 2012 by families, the school was made because of the lack of quality public school choices for kids with autism.
AZACS has highly trained teachers and staff supervised by Board Certified Applied Behavior Analysts (ABA) for a quality education. The ABA to help students overcome behavioral and communication deficits and access curriculum in the areas of language arts, math, science, social studies and life skills.
Now with 2 campuses, AZACS currently serves grades K-9 in Metro Phoenix but was approved to teach through the 12th grade by the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools. AZACS is growing by one-grade level each year and will be serving up to the 12th grade by 2022.
