PCA Education Members support our DTPHX schools
Over the past six months, PCA has listened to and watched our Education Members work tirelessly to meet the needs of their students, families, and employees. We applaud and thank them for their dedication to educating our state’s future. We will continue to advocate for our schools and connect them to opportunities they may need during COVID-19.

Read on to learn about how they are providing a safe learning environment for all:

Arizona School for the Arts

Arizona School for the Arts (ASA) students will continue remote learning for the first quarter of this school year and will make adjustments quarterly. Although at home, ASA students are still dancing! Performing arts classes will likely be online for the full year with limited performances.

Arizona State University

Arizona State University (ASU) administration has given careful consideration to the safety measures needed to keep students, staff, and the community safe and healthy throughout the semester. ASU has a required face-covering policy for both indoors and outdoors which they promote through their social channels as “Forks up! Masks up!” They are also implementing strict physical distancing and increased cleaning protocols to make the return to campus as safe as possible as part of their “Live Well, Be Well” campaign.  Your business can access ASU specific signage in this letter from ASU’s President Michael Crow here. That way, students, and all downtowners can practice safe behaviors while at your business.
Prioritizing safety and making updates to workspaces is just one of the many ways Galvanize is preparing their space for the return of students. For now, students can take live classes online and interact with their instructors and classmates virtually.

Gateway Community College’s

Just like all Maricopa Community Colleges, Gateway Community College’s (GCC) theory-based classes will remain online through the fall semester. Students enrolled in training and technical courses are able to take classes in-person; following precautions and CDC guidelines. Phoenix Forge, powered by GCC, is still on track to open this Fall. Follow all of the exciting updates on Phoenix Forge here.

Phoenix College

Phoenix College is following similar guidelines including virtual classes for the rest of the fall semester. Additionally, they’ll offer many remote administrative and student support services. Fun fact: Phoenix College is celebrating its Centennial, learn more about their 100th year, and participate in their Founders’ Day events here.

Phoenix Elementary School District #1

Phoenix Elementary School District #1 is prioritizing supporting the social and emotional needs of their students, families, and teachers. Learning is currently online and current conditions will be reassessed with the current plan to begin to bring students back October 12 with one of two learning platforms: a hybrid model or an online model.

Phoenix Union High School District

Phoenix Union High School District can’t wait to safely return to in-person instruction. Students were welcomed back virtually in early August and will continue with distance learning for the first quarter. Phoenix Union is committed to the health and safety of all students and staff so they will not re-open schools to in-person instruction until it is appropriate to do so.

The University of Arizona Eller College of Management

Working virtually to continue engaging students with businesses and career opportunities is a priority of The University of Arizona Eller College of Management. Four types of classes are being offered in Fall 2020 and they range from fully in-person to fully online. The University is working to virtually heighten the Eller Student Experience and provide professional and personal resources to students.

University of Arizona Health Sciences

University of Arizona Health Sciences continues to be a leader in global health and COVID-19 research. The University provides a safe learning environment for students on the Phoenix Biomedical Campus and has comprehensive resources and re-entry plans for each individual College belonging to Health Sciences.
